VIIF Spotlight: Whiskey Tango
With the Vancouver International Improv Festival fast approaching, we wanted to shine a light on all of the amazing talent we have joining us this Oct. 6-10.
Using their self-designed format dubbed “The Tango”, Whiskey Tango spins incredible long form stories out of a single suggestion. Their stories are grounded, their relationships nuanced, themselves… handsome.
Come see Whiskey Tango perform Sat. Oct. 11th at Waterfront Theatre!
What was the funniest/best improv set your group has ever performed?
That’s a toss up between “Funhouse Lounge 2015″ (Trust Falls gone wrong, outfielders finding their place in life) and the “Basement of a bike shop 2015″ (A trek to find a young boy’s self in the woods, highlighted by a FedEx delivery of dragon eggs) Check it out here.
If your group could be summed up in a single catch phrase, what would it be?
Classy, like a late night conversation on the floor of your parents kitchen, with dear friends, about nothing and everything… with suits.
What’s the nicest review you’ve gotten for one of your shows?
Portland Mercury, 2014 “Comprised of some of Portland’s top comedic talents, these handsome dandies are good enough to be invited to the upcoming San Francisco Sketchfest. See ‘em now, and say you knew ‘em when.”
What have you heard about Vancouver that you hope is true?
The people are the friendliest in the world… and they give you $25 when you cross the border.
What’s the best reason for people to come see your show at VIIF?
We love hugs.
