VIIF Spotlight: TEDxRFT
With the Vancouver International Improv Festival in full swing, we wanted to shine a light on all of the amazing talent we have joining us this Oct. 6-10.
What happens when you mix slides seen for the first time, an audience suggestion, and a duo of some of the funniest improvisers around? TEDxRFT is an improv show like no other, a TED talk made up entirely on the spot but so real you’ll swear it was pre-planned. Come watch them perform Friday Oct. 9th at Waterfront Theatre at 9:30pm.
What was the funniest/best improv set your group has ever performed?
Kory: Our performance at the International Academic Integrity Conference in Vancouver in front of 300 academics. We stole all the slides and didn’t cite a thing.
Julian: I cited all my slides because it’s the professional and polite thing to do.
If your group could be summed up in a single catch phrase, what would it be?
Kory: Powerpoint Karaoke.
Julian: Laugh and Learn… and laugh.
What’s the nicest review you’ve gotten for one of your shows?
Julian: The nicest reviews we get are when people tell us they sincerely learned something from the TED talks that we are improvising. When we heard that there were inspired parties in the audience.
Kory: “Great show… Can I get your number?”
What’s the best reason for people to come see your show at VIIF?
