VIIF Spotlight: Midy Zevlin

Monday, September 7, 2015

With the Vancouver International Improv Festival fast approaching, we wanted to shine a light on all of the amazing talent we have joining us this Oct. 6-10.

Our first spotlight of the festival is Midy Zevlin! Hailing from Boston, this stellar duo of Mike Zakarian and Andy Devlin explores a single scene experience filled with diverse and hilarious characters. Come check them out on Saturday Oct. 10th at 9:30pm at Performance Works.

Midy Zevlin

What is each player’s improv specialty?

Andy has the ability to create these wildly funny characters with strong points of view. He can also kill a room with crazy justifications.

Mike is the straightest of straight men. He can ground some of those weird things Andy’s doing.

If your group could be summed up in a single catch phrase, what would it be?

Grounded Chaos

What’s the nicest review you’ve gotten for one of your shows?

This wasn’t a true review but it was something someone posted on our Facebook page, so it counts right?

“Due to a clerical erroneous misoversight on my part, I accidentally hired this dynamic duo to perform at my grandson’s bachelor party. When they showed up at the door, I thought I had made the biggest mistake of my life and ruined everything. Boy was I wrong! These guys are terrific! They did not pay me to write this”

What’s the best reason for people to come see your show at VIIF?

We really like making each other laugh. If anything, you’ll get the opportunity to watch two people who enjoy playing with each other. We’ll have fun. Come have fun with us!
