VIIF Spotlight: Chairs
With the Vancouver International Improv Festival in full swing, we wanted to shine a light on all of the amazing talent we have joining us this Oct. 6-10.
With just two chairs and a single suggestion, Chairs spins entire worlds, and more importantly, delightful and interesting relationships, in to existence. Come see them Friday Oct. 9th at 9:30pm at Performance Works.
What’s the nicest review you’ve gotten for one of your shows?
“Dangerous…but it works”
“A delightful tango of comedy and insight.”
What is each player’s improv speciality?
Melissa said about Gavin: dry humor, quick witted, great outs, can justify and make great even the zaniest choices I make, built like a tree so I can climb all over him, makes me break every show
Gavin said about Melissa: Fearless choices, creative and out of left field choices, most trustworthy stage partner I’ve ever had, super bendy, bouncy hair and makes me break every show.
What have you heard about Vancouver that you hope is true?
That Triangle Square courtyard on Granville Island really has magical powers. Or just ghosts. But not the kind that will, like, haunt or kill us. You know, the cute ones!
What’s the best reason for people to come see your show at VIIF?
You’ll be on the brink of tears the whole time; laughing, crying, or in fear.
