Born and raised in Nairobi, Sehar Manji is now a Montreal-based improviser, writer, actor, teacher and comedienne at Montreal Improv. She improvises with Coffee Break and a is a core cast member of Colour Outside The Lines, a new show celebrating diversity within Montreal’s improv community, and The Super Bon Bon. She wrote and performed her first solo show in 2012 about a hoarder, which evolved into the Frankie-nominated, whirlwind comedy in the 2016 Fringe festival, “Total Liquidation” (2015, co-written + performed with Lar Vi) and performed in “The Kicker” (2016, written and directed by Vance Gillis). She continues to express her writing as half of the sketch duo, Big Mall and as a featured writer/performer in Joketown. She has also performed in festivals in Toronto (The Big City Improv Festival and Lipschtick), New York (The Del Close Marathon) and was part of the International Ensemble at the Vancouver International Improv Festival in 2016. Three things that are important to her in comedy are truth, sincerity and simplicity. Catch her this summer at OFF-JFL in Montreal – where she’ll one step closer to meeting Trevor Noah!
